Al Williams- Vocals
"You have to give the people what they want- Without your audience, you are nothing"
The voice that fills a room from the first note. Al has been entertaining audiences with his energetic performances for over 40 years. Not just a singer, a true showman in the style of R&B legends such as Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. Al is also a 1999 inductee into the Beach Music Hall of Fame

Laurie Capparella-Vocals, Percussion, Harmonica
"I want to put some soul in your heart and some funk in your trunk"
A versatile voice that stands on its own or is the perfect compliment to the power of Al. A fabulous all around musician, Laurie also plays guitar and keyboards and is always tasteful in her instrumental contributions to the band. She has been a member of several local bands and even formed and fronted her own original project "Electric Mistress".

Mike Kiorpes-Drums,Vocals
"There's nothing I enjoy more than seeing the audience bouncing to our tunes" The solid fatback drumming of The Assembly has been heard since Mike was six years old. Mike's musical interest comes honest as he was raised in a family of musicians that were all classically trained on the piano. Mike has played in touring bands, local acts and has even played for Chuck Berry. Mike also loves to collect vintage drums and other instruments.

Mike Parks-Bass,Vocals
"Quanda badda!" Mike is a very familiar face on any stage. Rock, Jazz, R&B and Funk are Mike's playgrounds. Always in demand for his quick ear and sense of harmony, Mike has found a comfortable home in The Assembly playing bass lines inspired by James Jamerson and Paul McCartney. Mike has also played with such legends as Martha Reeves (Martha and the Vandellas) and The 4 Aces

Mike Quinn- Guitar,Vocals
"Punctuality is good" "Q" as he is known in the band, is another fixture of the Raleigh music scene. His understated playing is the perfect compliment to the sound of The Assembly. Mike goes to great length to get the details right and make the song sound complete. Mike is a huge fan of all styles of music, but especially loves the instrumental stylings of Booker T and the MG's and The Meters.

Scott DeMattos- Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals
"I always feel that if the band is having a good time, everyone else wants to join the party" Scott has been referred to as an encyclopedia of popular music. He has spent his musical career playing anything from dusty Honky Tonks to Black Tie events, loving the unique experience that each gig presented. Rumored to know the lyrics to every song from the Rock and Roll era, Scott's true strength is his role as arranger, playing (or many times, not playing) whatever is necessary to round out the tune
